A chemical compound , known as DMSP is used by marine microorganisms recycle nutrients and to find compounds relevant to the climate

The interaction between microorganisms living nel’oceano and a particular organic compound may affect the chemical properties and ocean influence the formation of clouds in the atmosphere and hence global climate.

Justin Seymour , a researcher at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia , describes on the magazine pages Science how a chemical compound called dimetilsolfoniopropionato ( DMSP ) is used by marine microorganisms recycle nutrients and to find compounds relevant to the climate .

Using microfluidic technology , Seymour and colleagues recorded the movement of microbes swimming attracted by the substance : the very fact that they move actively towards the DMSP indicates that these tiny organisms play a crucial role in oceanic sulfur cycles and carbon carrying a powerful influence on global climate .

Metagenomics is a new field which aims to obtain genome sequences of different microorganisms, bacteria in this case that make a community, extracting and analyzing their DNA globally. The ability to sequence genomes of microbes directly, without having to cultivate new possibilities that lead to a change of course in Microbiology. This is a scientific revolution because of its high performance and low cost. Provides access to the genome without seeing or cultivate microorganisms.

DNA is the molecule that contains all the information that determines what will be the functions and purpose of a cell within a multicellular organism or the cell as independently as in the case of unicellular organisms.

Francisco Rodriguez Valera researcher Evolutionary Genomics Group at the University Miguel Hernandez, San Juan de Alicante, gave a talk at the Experimental Station Zaidin (EEZ), a center belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), where he expressed the ability to directly sequence the genomes of microbes without the need to nurture them. This opens new possibilities that lead to a change of course in Microbiology.

As Johnson explains Katja Technological University of Delft, some bacteria, if all conditions are met, can become the bags. The polymer produced by microbes can indeed be used in the manufacture of bioplastics.

The biodegradable plastics market is growing rapidly, gradually replacing the plastic from oil. They are made from starch, cellulose or polylactic acid may be bacterial (polyhydroxyalkanoates or PHA). The bacteria naturally produce PHA polymer, a kind of “fat” blight.

Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) have conducted extensive studies Mior method and analyzed the effect of different levels of oil recovery.

Bacteria in oil reservoirs produce more oil. They eat tiny, oil. Still, they can help more black gold sub.
Now Norwegian researchers have created a new method to increase oil production, called ‘Enhanced Oil Recovery by microbes‘, abbreviated, Mior. The bacteria that eat oil is used to detect oil that can not be recovered by other methods and to make easier the extraction of deposits.
