Metagenomics is a new field which aims to obtain genome sequences of different microorganisms, bacteria in this case that make a community, extracting and analyzing their DNA globally. The ability to sequence genomes of microbes directly, without having to cultivate new possibilities that lead to a change of course in Microbiology. This is a scientific revolution because of its high performance and low cost. Provides access to the genome without seeing or cultivate microorganisms.
DNA is the molecule that contains all the information that determines what will be the functions and purpose of a cell within a multicellular organism or the cell as independently as in the case of unicellular organisms.
Francisco Rodriguez Valera researcher Evolutionary Genomics Group at the University Miguel Hernandez, San Juan de Alicante, gave a talk at the Experimental Station Zaidin (EEZ), a center belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones CientÃficas (CSIC), where he expressed the ability to directly sequence the genomes of microbes without the need to nurture them. This opens new possibilities that lead to a change of course in Microbiology.
