The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer ( AMS) arrived in late August 2010 at the Kennedy Space Center (Florida) .
It was an opportunity for Peter Hinze , Government Coordinator for aeronautics and aerospace as well as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology ( BMWi ) , to highlight the expertise to German . He has stated that ” AMS is an example for the prestigious achievements in basic research in Germany. With AMS , answers to central questions of the physics of our universe will be made. I am delighted that the transport of AMS to the International Space Station ( ISS ) has been made possible by the end of space shuttle flights . I congratulate the German scientists and Schael professor at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH , North Rhine Westphalia), who participated in the successful development of AMS through its expertise and its strong commitment to excellence .
The instrument was presented to the public on the morning of August 28 , before his departure to the ISS scheduled February 26, 2011 aboard the last flight of U.S. space shuttles.

GOCE (Ocean Circulation Explorer and gravity) of the European Space Agency (ESA) will be released this spring, as the agency recently announced. This satellite is designed to provide unique models of the gravitational field of the earth’s surface, especially the oceans, on a global scale with an accuracy and unprecedented spatial resolution.

GOCE will significantly improve our understanding of the physics of the Earth and climate research, according to its creators. Thanks to information provided by the instruments on the
spacecraft, scientists hope to learn new information about
Earth’s gravitational field, ocean circulation and sea level variations, thus enabling better understand the functioning of the planet.
On April 3 will take place the official presentation of the mission at the European
Space Research and Technology Center (ESTEC) of ESA in Noordwijk (Netherlands).
Managers, aerospace, scientific and other experts involved in the project set out its objectives. It will also show the satellite before being transported to Russia for launch. The launch will take place aboard a Rockot launcher from Plesetsk (Russian Federation).
