Contamination of Soils in Mar. The teachings of the radioactive contamination of Fukushima

I discussed in the previous post , as vast tracts of land in Japan are contaminated by radioactive waste after the accident in Fukushima (see post: one third of the soils from Japan affected by radioactive contamination ). In principle, one might think thatthe ocean currents dilute the radionuclides . Right! But the process not be so simple. As with other pollutants, water discharges and that leached from soils retain runoff that carries pollution of the seas near coastlines affected , and may even extend them. José Aguado Alonso in his blog “Water”, edit the post titled “ The pollution of marine waters by the Fukushima disaster , “where he realizes it. However, no information cherish the deposition of radionuclides(especially cesium and iodine) in submerged coastal soils or mean residence time, which will depend on factors such as particle size and mineralogical composition of the materials . How to quantify the magnitude of the problem then? Inventory and monitoring are the answer .

Obviously, algae and other non-predators are also affected but should not accumulate large amounts of radioisotopes via the food chain biomagnification . Know if they are in sufficient quantity to prohibit their use, because the Japanese eat abundant coastal seafood, so this process is maintained in humans.

A few months ago we published the post “ The Health of Children and Contact with Nature. Playing with the floor . “ Well, today we show how we were right. Recent research shows as playing with the soil prevents allergies and asthma since childhood .  When children play with the soil in contact with large numbers of microorganisms, preparing and strengthening your immune system for subsequent contacts with microorganisms and substances Allergenic. Similarly, a robust immune system may prevent diabetes, obesity and a number of diseases throughout our lives .

In the cities, our children play around with the ground, so we have to remedy, because the incidence of these diseases is growing every day in most industrialized countries and has become a serious public health problem . Scientists say the study authors found a negative relationship between bacterial diversity of the “straight” and the aforementioned disease incidence. In other words, the higher the microbial biodiversity in this part of our anatomy lower susceptibility to allergies and other diseases . No abuse of antibiotics and other substances that decimate the bugs in our digestive tract!. As we discussed in many other post, without our arsenal of bacteria, humans can not survive. Hence we keep our children in an aseptic bubble, rather than protect them seriously damages health.
