The Centre for New Water Technologies joins the group's steering committee cleansing in villages of the IWA

The group of experts from the International Water Association (IWA, for its acronym in English) that has joined the Center for New Water Technologies (CENTA) is aimed at finding sustainable solutions on purification for small communities in both the sanitation and the reuse of reclaimed water.

Juan Jose Salas, coordinator of Water Technologies of the Foundation Center, has been appointed to the management committee of the specialist in systems for small-scale purification of the International Water Association (IWA). Thus, the consolidating its international position CENTA to be present in one of the largest institutions within the sector reference worldwide.

The panel aims to find sustainable solutions on purification for small communities, both in the sanitation and the reuse of reclaimed water. The last lines of work have been focused towards the treatment of wastewater in small industry. The group’s director is Simon Gonzalez, professor of the Engineering Institute of the Autonomous University of Mexico. The committee is composed of ten renowned researchers worldwide in the field of water treatment in small towns.

The IWA is a global reference entity for water professionals whose main objective is to promote research in the field of water resources and the implementation of the results. Through its network of members and experts in various areas (research, management, regulation, industry, consulting, etc..), The IWA has become a reference when help water professionals create innovative solutions pragmatic and sustainable for the challenging global needs.

In addition to the various professions, the partnership also highlights the varied geographical origin of its partners, which greatly enriches both the operation and the achievement of the objectives that justify their action.

Juan Jose Salas holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Seville. His career has been parallel to the experimental site managed by the Foundation CENTA in the Seville town of Carrión de los Céspedes, where he coordinates the area of ​​Water Technologies. The experimental site is a unique platform, unique in Spain and Europe, with over twenty years of life dedicated to research on wastewater treatment applied to small populations.
